How Does The BADU®Solar Smart Work?
The solar panels connected to this unit absorb sunlight and generate DC electricity. This flow of electricity is then directed to the controller box, mounted on top of the pump, where it undergoes conversion to AC electricity, the same form of electricity that we obtain from the national grid. However, unlike most solar pumps that run on DC power, the BADU®Solar Smart is designed to maintain high performance and withstand extraneous environmental conditions.
This unit’s solar panels should be installed and configurated according to their size, facing true North if you are in the southern hemisphere and true South if you are in the Northern hemisphere, to generate the best possible power.
Turning Sunlight into Energy
The innovative design of the BADU®Solar Smart follows sustainable practices to allow these units to use solar power first and then top up from the grid if needed. The photovoltaic (PV) system provides an average of almost 9 hours of sunlight daily, more than enough to run your swimming pool or Koi pond pump.
